Taekwondo Rules Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and Olympic sport developed after World War II, often attributed to General Choi Hong Hi. It incorporates elements from native Korean martial arts (Taekkyeon, Subak, Gwonbeop) and influences from Japanese Karate and Chinese Kung Fu.
